LINDSEY WINTER SLISZ
Lindsey Winter SLisz was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She started dancing at the age of three and various studios in the area in ballet, tap and jazz. At the age of ten she began her formal ballet training under the tutelage of Sherry Moray, Avnun Yakubov and Homer Bryant. She has performed in area Nutcracker ballets as well as danced as a member of Illinois Ballet Theaterin such ballets as Deilbes Variations, Cannon in D and LaBoutique Fantasque.
She also competed yearly at Youth America Grand Prix in Chicago and New York City. Lindey also studied tap with Joyce lang and Cheryl Sayers and apprenticed tap instruction under Suzanne B. Asa. One of her greatest joys in her dancing career was meeting the legendary Prima Ballerina Maria Tallchief. Lindsey has also choreographed the musical Bye, Bye Birdie under the direction of Ms. Jan Baker from the Oak Brook Academy of Children's Theater.
A graduate of the University of Iowa in Elementary education, Lindsey has taught dance for the last 19 years and is an excellent instructor for ballet students who enjoy her fresh and informative approach to teaching. She is proud to pass on her knowledge of dance to her students specializing in Ballet Technique, Pointe, Stretch & Strengthening, Classical Variations and Ballet Theory.
