Parents often ask, so here's the short version. Modern is grounded and powerful — think controlled falls, floor work, and breath-driven movement. Contemporary blends modern with ballet and jazz into something fluid and ever-evolving. Lyrical is the most story-driven, using a song's lyrics and emotion to guide every movement. At Relevé, dancers get a taste of all three, building range most studios in the Lockport area simply don't offer.

What a class looks like

Every class starts with a warm-up and conditioning to build the core strength and flexibility these styles demand. From there, dancers work through across-the-floor progressions, improvisation to find their own voice, and choreography they'll polish over the season.
